The role:
Are you interested in a job that takes you all over Central Otago’s vast beautiful roading networks? Travelling from deep in native forest areas to high country stations. We are seeking a skilled chemical applicator to take over our Roadside vegetation control. Each day you will travel the region and help with noxious pest plant and roading corridor vegetation control a greatly rewarding job with million-dollar views.
We need an experienced Agri chemical applicator who is passionate about health and safety and the environment. Someone who can worked independent and can keep daily detailed records of areas sprayed. Full training can be given to the right applicant.
About you:
- Hands on experience and a good understanding of environmental laboring (specifically tractor and other machinery operation, spraying and mowing equipment, gardening, landscaping, and vegetation control).
- Understands and adheres to (Environmental Laboring) Health & Safety guidelines and best practice.
- Enjoys working outside in all weather.
- Must be physically fit and able.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude;
- A current and clean Driver’s license class 1;
- A proven record of being a team player
Preferred candidates will also have:
- Class 1 driver’s license
- Growsafe qualification
- Chemical Applicator qualification
- TMO/ STMS
- Wheels endorsement
- Experience and knowledge of the regional greenspaces and local contract requirements desirable
- Any horticultural qualifications desirable
