We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver to join our Transport team in Gisborne. You will be responsible for carting and spreading metal, chip spreading and transporting a wide range of machinery to and from various work sites while ensuring plant is in safe working condition. You will also be loading and unloading machinery, transport trailers and materials on sites.
In addition to the above you will:

Drive and operate trucks and machinery in a professional and safe manner, always aware of your surroundings and conscious of the safety and wellbeing of others

Take part in pre-start meetings - understand the hazards and the plan to control them, always speak up if not sure

Ensuring trucks and equipment are maintained and comply with all transport regulations (i.e. COF, Rego)

Monitor truck maintenance - keep accurate, timely and well organised records as required

We’re looking for someone with:
-
Current Class 5 licence
-
WTR endorsements with experience operating a machinery
-
Minimum of 2 years practical heavy vehicle driving experience
-
Flexibility to perform various daily tasks and grow with the team
-
Experience in transporting, chip sealing and metal spreading will be an advantage
-
Civil construction knowledge will be beneficial
-
Flexibility to perform various daily tasks and grow with the team

Good understanding of site safety and hazard management
-
Excellent communication with co-workers and management
