You will play a pivotal role within the unit holding dual responsibility for processing the higher level, complex and technical applications while also being a first point of call to other members of the team for technical guidance, direction, and support. You will hold a key role in the review of 42(a) reports and signoff (dependent on delegations). You will also collaborate and provide strategic and technical planning support to other units of Council.

- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in planning and resource management.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of the relevant legislation relating to Local Government Act and Resource Management Act.
- Bachelor’s degree in planning or resource management.
- A knowledge of related practices, such as resource planning, transport planning, economic and community development, landscape/ecological design, and sustainable environment issues.
- Ability to interpret legislation to determine planning and enforcement processes.
- Member of the NZ Planning Institute.
