Always striving to protect and enhance our environment, we are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Technician to take lead on the collection, processing and archiving of environmental data, and to support the team on best practices for our environmental data programmes. Kō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role To help achieve the environmental data programmes, we are seeking a highly skilled technician to collaborate on maintaining time series databases, telemetry systems and data monitoring equipment, to troubleshoot and develop procedures that are fit for purpose and in line with best practice and a senior who is passionate about mentoring and supporting junior technicians. Ko ngā pūmanawa ōu | About you Your degree or equivalent qualification in environmental science, hydrology or your solid experience in this field will form the foundation of your abilities in environmental monitoring fieldwork and data handling and lend to your demonstrated experience in using of a broad range of equipment and software. You will also bring:
Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and data handling systems, ideally confident using Hilltop software.
A pragmatic nature, you will be comfortable in the outdoors, able and willing to undertake regular and occasionally on-call field work.
High level of communication and relationship management skills.
Good general computer skills including spreadsheet and database management.
Experience working with community groups and research organisations.
A forward thinking, self starter attitude with a strong customer service ethic.
