About the team | Ko te rōpū nei Working in Legal and Democratic Services unit as the Senior Democratic Services Advisor, you will be part of a team providing end-to-end support and service to Council and its committees, through advisory and professional services. About the role | Ko te mahi nei As a Senior Advisor in our Democratic Services team, you will:
Work closely with Elected members, ELT and Council Officers to providing specialist advice in democratic processes and decision making processes, including Standing Orders
Provide end to end service and support to Council, it's committees and other associated meetings
Work as an intermediate between Council, the community and external agencies who are seeking advice and information on Council activities and decision making
Review and edit complex documents and related information
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei To be successful in the role, you will:
Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (such as law, political science or humanities), and extensive local government experience
Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships
Be able to think on your feet and see the big picture, and have an excellent eye for detail
Be timeframe focused, calm under pressure and able to work to tight deadlines
Have a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality, and be able to think strategically
