The Council's Community Governance Teams work in partnership with communities. As a Governance Advisor for the Banks Peninsula Community Governance Team you'll have an opportunity to be at the forefront of local governance decision making in a diverse and exciting community. Supporting the Banks Peninsula Community Board, you will:
Know your governance processes inside out, be calm under pressure, and thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
Be a flexible juggler, a well-organised arranger, and a careful record keeper - a project coordinator with great admin skills.
Working alongside business groups from across the organisation, you'll help keep our city's elected representatives informed about the Council's activities and be dedicated to supporting elected member decision making to build strong communities.
Provide professional support to staff within the organisation around process and provide advice and support to Community Board members.
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Excellent attention to detail, great computer skills (including Microsoft Office suite) and proven experience in preparing and putting documents on the web.
Knowledge of, and experience working with, Infocouncil would be a distinct advantage.
You may hold a relevant tertiary qualification in public policy or a related field, or the equivalent may have been gained through extensive relevant experience.
You must also be highly organised, task oriented, a quick learner and able to produce consistently high standards of work within tight timeframes.
