About the role | Ko te mahi nei The Digital Unit supports diverse departments of the Council with a range of technology developments, implementations and enhancements to achieve first class service delivery in all aspects of its community-based service. Your role will be to help achieve these goals by working as part of one of the enterprise support teams supporting customer facing applications in accordance with best practice. Your responsibilities include:
Support the scoping and estimation of work effort to deliver based on technical, functional specification and detailed design.
Suggest/recommend improvements to Analysis and Design policy and practices.
Ensure all analysis and design activity is delivered in accordance with current quality standards, policy and practice.
Ensure configured applications meet quality standards, including documentation.
Perform unit testing of configured applications/modules.
Support user acceptance testing.
Assist in the development of transition/implementation plans in accordance with change/release policy and practice.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level application support.
Document and record all support and maintenance activity in accordance with change and release management policy and practices.
About you | Ko Koe Tēnei
A high level of written communication skills is required to participate in the development of functional and technical documentation alongside well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills across various functional areas.
Minimum 4 years industry experience in either a business analysis, systems analysis, or business process analysis role.
Previous experience in local government is preferred with a background in business process analysis.
You will also need skills in communication, organisation and planning.
Some knowledge sharing with your peers will also be required as well as staff training, and testing experience would be useful.
Working within a large team and organisation, no two days will be the same and you won't be afraid to challenge the status quo by outside the box thinking.

Additional Information | Ko ētahi atu kōrero: Hours of work:37.5 - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Location: This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices: 53 Hereford Street, Christchurch. Salary:The salary band for this position goes from $78,464 to $87,182 per annum based on a 40-hour working week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
