Science Assistant
Environment Southland have a variety of Summer Student roles available commencing in November or December 2024.
You are eligible to apply if you are currently enrolled in a tertiary institution or have graduated this year.
All roles are offered at a rate of $27.80 per hour.
All roles are 37.5 hours per week unless specified otherwise

Science Assistant:
Contract end date: 28 March 2025
This role is a great introduction to the world of freshwater ecology and a way to get to know the wonderful organisms that call our waterways home. The role will be primarily field based, undertaking and supporting the summer monitoring programmes, but include some office and desk-based work. Attention to detail, data entry skills, confidence in and around waterways, and a keen interest in freshwater ecology are a must. You will also need a full driver's licence. If you want to make your way into the freshwater sciences, this is the job for you!
