ROLE SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking applications for a permanent, full time secondary Social Science Teacher to join our incredible team. ACG Sunderland is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school based in Henderson, Auckland. We cater for students in Years 0-13, delivering both Cambridge and NZ Curriculums.

We require an experienced social science teacher who is able to deliver motivational and differentiated lessons that cater for student’s individual needs. The successful applicant will have strength in teaching literacy, be very well organised, enjoy working as a part of a supportive team, and be willing to contribute to the corporate life of our school. The position will commence in Term 1, 2025. Please state curriculum areas of strength and a clear list of your experiences across different year levels. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach social science, ensuring you create an engaging learning environment.
Cater to the varied learning needs and abilities within your classes to maximise student development.
Develop excellent working relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Ensure the effective use of technology in teaching and learning activities.
Participate in wider school activities.
Ensure student's welfare and safety in every moment.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

NZ Teacher registration with supporting teaching qualifications (BA and/or MBA).
Experience in teaching social science in a secondary school curriculum to a high standard.
Well-prepared, inspiring confidence in students and parents.
Flexible, committed, professional, hard working, team player.
