About the Role This Product Development Engineering role is made for an inquisitive and innovative person who is looking to make a positive impact on the outcomes of patients requiring respiratory support. The role offers an opportunity to work in an engineering design team, focused on developing new and novel medical products. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of new products, as well as supporting existing products already on the market. We need your help to ensure our products are innovative, effective and safe. You will be working on increasing your engineering knowledge while taking products through the entire development cycle, from initial ideation, through detailed design, prototyping, performance testing, process development and manufacturing setup.
This role will be focusing on identifying problems and developing new solutions for oxygen and humidification systems that are used in the home healthcare environment. These projects can involve a complex mix of mechanical systems, electrical hardware, and custom software, so exceptional communication skills and the ability to work together in a cross functional group will be highly beneficial. This also gives you the opportunity to lead small projects within a multi-disciplinary team.

A formal engineering qualification in mechanical, chemical, materials, process (or similar) with 4+ years of transferable working experience
Proficient with time management, prioritisation and working under pressure
Knowledge or experience in pneumatic or oxygen gas systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills especially with design of components.
Experience with 3D modelling using CAD software. Experience with Creo would be ideal.
Proficient in technical report writing – clear documentation is a key part of medical product development.
Exposure to following would be advantageous but not essential:
Developing medical devices; working in regulated industry such as healthcare.
Designing pneumatic systems, applied thermodynamics and Knowledge of Fluid dynamics (CFD)
Material science
Working with overseas vendors.
Project management (organising, co-ordinating and communicating)
