The Opportunity Our Engineering team at the Otago Regional Council is looking for a Operations Technician to join the team on a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent basis in our busy Balclutha office. As an Operations Technician, you will be responsible for:
Assisting with inspections of Flood Control, and Drainage Scheme assets
Assisting in maintenance of the flood banks and other flood scheme components in a manner that ensures effective and efficient operation up to and beyond the design standards.
Undertaking routine monitoring of ORC Flood Control, and Drainage Scheme performance
Responding and monitoring any flood related issues that relate to the Flood Control and Drainage Schemes

Have a Clean and full New Zealand driver's licence
Mechanical or civil trade experience
Experience working in a field-based role, operating handheld machinery and equipment
The ability to work in a team as well as independently
Good practice environmental management skills
