The Operating Theatres at Christchurch Health Campus are looking for people wanting to work in a fast paced, rewarding career where if you bring motivation, energy, initiative and a desire to learn with on the job training you need to fulfil this role. As an Operating Theatre Assistant (OTA) you - ll be working cooperatively with team members and staff to assist all areas of the Operating Theatre Department. Duties and responsibilities:
Transporting and transferring patients.
Collecting equipment for surgical procedures across all specialties from paediatrics to neurosurgery.
Setting up and cleaning theatres.
Managing linen and supplies.
Ordering stock
Salary starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum. Based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement Ko wai koe - About You We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion to the Operating Theatre Department. A high level of fitness - pushing beds, trolleys and walking up to 15 kms per day.
Previous experience as an Operating Theatre Asisstant preferred
Reliable with excellent time management
Discretion and confidentiality coupled with a strong work ethic.
Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently and effectively
Good Computer Skills
