Job Description:
As a Cyclic Maintenance Operator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations ensuring safety, quality, and efficient completion of various tasks. These tasks include:
- Pothole repairs
- Edge break repairs
- Wire rope barrier and guardrail repairs
- Sweeping
- Marker peg placement
- Roadside rubbish collection
- Road sign maintenance
- Culvert cleaning
- Emergency response
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate and participate in tailgate meetings, safety projects, quality projects, and audit teams.
- Order materials as required.
- Document dayworks, unscheduled works, emergency works, timesheets, and all other necessary documentation.
- Liaise with clients effectively.
- Ensure vehicles under your control are well-maintained both visually and mechanically.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Effective communication skills for interacting on a non-technical level.
- Problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities onsite.
- Ability to achieve or exceed targeted productivities and quality standards.
- Traffic management qualification preferred (training provided if necessary).
- Proficiency with smart phone and tablet applications.
- Valid Class 2 Drivers licence, WTR (wheels, tracks, rollers) certification is advantageous.
- Knowledge in equipment selection, operation, and basic troubleshooting.
- Experience with assembling safety fences and environmental controls.
- Efficient use of plant and materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to read written instructions, maps, and plans.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in road construction and maintenance.
- Understanding of machine and tool design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Competence in arithmetic and other mathematical operations.
