Waipuna Hospice has a high profile in the Bay of Plenty for providing specialist community palliative care. Our geographical reach covers Waihi Beach to Paengaroa and while our focus is on hospice-at-home, we also have an established inpatient unit and we support a large community team. These services are funded through DHB contracts, fundraising and income from our retail charity shops. We pride ourselves on our supportive team environment. Job Description
ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking an experienced, friendly, energetic and creative Assistant Manager to join our team in our Mount Maunganui Charity Shop. This is a fast-paced 7-day work environment that is supported by paid staff and volunteers. Our Assistant Manager will work closely with our Shop Manager and team to optimise productivity and grow sales of donated goods, which helps us to fund our vital community work. The key tasks of the position include:
Managing day-to-day operations of the shop and supporting the Shop Manager
Stock management including presentation, merchandising, pricing, and storage
Management of volunteers to ensure a smooth workflow
Generating appeal and demand of donated goods to increase revenue growth
Ensuring legal and organisational requirements are met
Enhancing the profile of Waipuna Hospice
The hours are Sunday 9.00am - 3.30pm and Monday to Wednesday 8.00am - 4.30pm. Additional hours may be required from time to time to cover annual leave/ sickness.

Previous retail experience preferably with NCEA qualifications in retail are a desire to attain
