About the Role
As a Lecturer in Paramedicine, you will be instrumental in providing top-tier education and training to students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to improve health outcomes within our communities. This is an exciting opportunity based at the Whitireia campus in Porirua, where you will:
Deliver high-quality learning experiences in paramedicine, ensuring that your knowledge remains cutting-edge in both clinical practice and educational standards.
Continuously update and refine the curriculum, as well as teach and assess student learning to ensure they meet the highest standards of paramedic practice.
Develop and implement innovative methods of student assessment and track their progress with meticulous record-keeping.
Engage in peer reviews, represent the faculty, and contribute to educational development within Wellington Free Ambulance.
Skills and Experiences:
About you
We seek an individual who is passionate about education and mentoring the next generation of paramedics. The ideal candidate will have:
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, with advanced proficiency in Power Point.
At least 3 years of operational experience as a Paramedic or in urgent/unplanned care.
A minimum ATP of Paramedic (or equivalent) with current registration.
Proven experience in delivering adult education and creating engaging online learning materials.
A solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design, including catering to inter-generational learning needs.
A relevant undergraduate degree and recognized preceptor training.
