Description:
Are you passionate about providing exceptional patient care and making a difference in your community? Wellington Free Ambulance is looking for dedicated part-time Patient Transfer Officers to support non-emergency transport, hospital transfers, outpatient appointments, and specialized patient transfers across the Greater Wellington region.
Hours:
As Patient Transfer Officer you will be working on a variety of permanent shifts allowing the service to cover 7 days a week from 0600-2300. The part time positions available are for 12 hours per week on average.
Your Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality patient care and safe transportation for non-emergency and specialized transfers
Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
Accurately complete all required documentation
Ensure vehicles are fully equipped, clean, and ready for use, while managing related administrative tasks
Skills and Experiences: What We’re Looking For: Qualifications: Valid First Aid Certificate (NZQA Unit Standards 6402, 6401, 6400) or have completed your 1st year of your Paramedicine Degree
Driver’s Licence: Full, clean driver’s licence (held for 2+ years), with a defensive driving course completed in the past 2 years
Personal Qualities: Strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Physical Fitness: Physically fit and strong as the role includes manual handling tasks
Flexibility to adapt to various shift patterns and a changing work routine
