As a Kaitūhono within our Contact Centre, you will be the first point of contact for whānau, delivering phone-based support and guidance. You will connect with whānau to establish their unique needs and ensure that they have access to the right services, at the right time. Your listening skills will be put to the test as you tautoko whānau through complicated matters, ensuring mana is upheld with each korero.
This is a fixed-term full-time opportunity with a start date in January 2025, and an end date of June 2025.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound communications, including face-to-face engagements as necessary.
- Advocate for whānau with various government agencies, ensuring they receive their entitlements and rights.
- Utilize the Whānau Ora Practice model and Mataora assessment and planning framework to support whānau in achieving their self-determined aspirations.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with whānau, community services, and other external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and learning to continuously improve service delivery.
Your Skills and Experience
- Strong commitment to Te Reo me ōna tikanga.
- A valid Full NZ Drivers’ Licence.
- Experience working in customer service/contact centre.
- Experience working alongside whānau from all walks of life.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fundamental computer skills and confidence speaking on the phone.
- Ability to listen, think on your feet, and answer whanau queries.
- Ability to identify complex situations and create referrals for support.
