We have an exciting opportunity for Frontline Manager to join the team at our Wiri manufacturing site. Through the support of the Production Manager, the purpose of this role is to manage all processing and packaging personnel on assigned shift; review and support other functions on site during assigned shift (e.g. Raw Mats, Engineering).
Achieve AOP cost, quality, service, safety, people and environmental objectives. Lead the development and implementation of site performance and continuous improvement plans including individual projects and projects for team members. Coach and develop team members capability. Ensure training is on track to ensure line capability is growing.
Twillight Shift – 3 pm to 11 pm – Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
As a Frontline Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Product and Packaging quality whilst ensuring food safety, occupational safety and environmental safety standards are maintained/ improved.
- Line output including crewing levels, True and Net efficiency.
- Cost performance whilst maintaining service level.
- Training and development of employees.
- Driving a continuous improvement culture in a team-based environment.
- Ensuring robust and effective communication between shift Frontline Managers to enable handover and line priorities to be accurately relayed.
- Ensuring reasonable instruction is given in relation to HACCP.
- Complying with the site Anti-Contamination Policy to ensure the food safety of Bluebird Foods product.
- Adherence to quality systems.
- Demonstrating and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety and welfare of our people.
- Undertaking all duties in accordance with company environmental policies and procedures and support continual improvement in environmental systems and performance as outlined in annual plans.
Qualifications:
You will have:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in food manufacturing environment
- A relevant tertiary qualification in science, engineering or related discipline.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective computer knowledge a minimum of intermediate level experience in MS Office and SAP.
- Interpersonal skills which foster the trust, co-operation and support of others and be the enabler to removing obstacles and barriers within their control.
- Maintain performance under pressure.
- Continuous improvement and modern process control techniques.
- Core understanding of food safety and HACCP principles and practices.
- Basic understanding of budget preparation (financial and analytical capability);
- Knowledge of EEO and ER principles and practices.
- Knowledge of efficient and effective manufacturing practices.
You will be:
- Planning and co-ordinating several simultaneous work activities and be forward thinking.
- Analysing issues and develop effective solutions; effectively leading by example, managing and developing a work group to achieve agreed goals and objectives which should be results oriented.
- Relating effectively with a broad range of levels and disciplines and develop technical competency within their function.
- Managing/supervising the direct team with particular emphasis on balancing development of a team-based culture with achieving “bottom line” performance targets.
- Achieving AOP objectives with many moving parts
- Prioritising and making decisions on the run.
- Managing operating flexibility into a highly variable environment
- Adding capability and sustainability within the team
- Supporting overall business objectives
