Ferry Terminal Operator

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Picton Terminal team as a Ferry Terminal Operator on a part-time (60 hours per fortnight) fixed term basis to end of April 2025. This is a busy and varied role where no two days are the same!
As a Ferry Terminal Operator, you will play a vital role in assisting with the operational and customer service aspects of turning our iconic ferries around, while ensuring the terminal and adjoining facilities are maintained to a high standard for our customers to enjoy. You will also be responsible for securing the ships lines, luggage handling and cleaning and ensure the maintenance of terminal facilities. There's no previous experience required, we will give you fully paid training in all aspects of the role, simply bring your enthusiasm and your motivation to see a job well done!

This position involves shift work and a requirement to work Monday to Sunday on a rotating rostered basis (planned two weeks in advance); you will work primarily day shifts 0800-1430, 1130 – 1500 or 1600-1830 so you must also have a reliable way to get to and from the terminal safely as public transport may not be available at these times.

You will also be responsible for securing the ships lines, luggage handling and cleaning and ensure the maintenance of terminal facilities. What you’ll do

You will also need to have:
- A full, clean Class 1 driving licence is essential
- A Class 2 driving licence – this is desirable however not essential
- A high level of physical fitness, team spirit and be health and safety focused
- The ability work a rotating 24/7 shift roster (including nights)
- An ability to think on your feet and apply knowledge in a practical environment
- A customer service focus
