The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to community safety and wellbeing in Rotorua. This is achieved through the effective and efficient regulation of food safety, environmental health, noise, alcohol licensing, geothermal safety, general inspection and associated investigation and enforcement activities. To be successful in this role, you will have:
A clear passion for the Rotorua District and to serve your community
Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written
Proven experience in undertaking inspection, investigation, enforcement, education and managing licensing related work programs
Sound judgement and decision making skills, and an eye for detail
Proven experience in managing a complex and continually changing work load and priorities
Proven ability to write succinct correspondence, reports and submissions, including relevant documentation for legal matters
Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict and provocation while maintaining professional integrity at all times.
A commitment to customer service, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement
A high level of computer literacy
The ability to also work to an agreed rotating after hours staff roster
A qualification as an Environmental Health Officer is required.
A full and clear NZ driver's licence
