Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The Employer Engagement Lead is critical in providing a strategic and coordinated approach for the University of Canterbury (UC) to engage with industry partners to enhance graduate employability outcomes. You will provide world-class leadership in working collaboratively, internally and externally, to understand employer requirements, future of work indicators and to translate that knowledge to best effect in a tertiary education setting for optimum student employability outcomes. This is a key role in developing an institutional understanding of current employer engagement activities, so as to support and improve what is already being done at UC as well as to initiate new ways of working in collaboration with colleagues, and industry. Your work will ultimately serve and increase students' career development opportunities and pathways.

You are an exceptional leader skilled in building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders using a collaborative approach. You are a strategic thinker who is exceptional in both internal and external stakeholder management. You come with good networks locally and nationally, but you also bring the important skillset of being system-minded and bringing others with you so as to gather and share key information relating to external engagement that, in the end, impacts student success. With an interest in innovation, the changing landscape of the future of work, combined with looking at how we can do things differently, this is an exciting opportunity to make real change. We want to hear your ideas and priorities, with this new role at the heart of creating future-ready graduates.

You will work closely with staff across campus including Careers, Work-Integrated Learning, Faculty, UCMāori, Commmunications, Events and more. Externally, you will gain insights from local and national employers and a variety of industry and community bodies. You are at the heart of empowering students to take charge of their future.
