Bridge Construction Engineer - Whangārei Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We continue to build on our successes in the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi and local authority bridge management space. We’re responsible for a range of assets across the wider Northland region, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and river protection structures. We have an exciting opening for a civil or structural professional engineer to join our Whangārei bridge team to support our ongoing construction programme including:
Life-extending strengthening and remediation works
Upgrades of existing structures to meet higher loadings
Resilience improvements and climate adaption projects
Repairs for vehicle damage and heavy rainfall events
While being based in Whangārei, you will have access to a truly multi-discipline business where you can draw on leading subject matter and technical experts to support delivery of your projects. You will be undertaking construction monitoring and contract administration, as well as helping with contract development and procurement of the works. Aligned with the level of the role, we envision that the base salary component will be between NZ$68,000 – $102,000.00, depending on skills and experience. The role is full time and permanent, with minimum guaranteed hours of 40 hours a week. You will have experience in civil or structural engineering construction and enjoy working with clients and contractors.
You will be collaborative, with strong problem-solving skills, good communication abilities, and organisational skills. You will have a desire to continually learn and grow your technical and consulting skills, and you’ll enjoy having fun along the way.
You have relevant New Zealand or overseas qualifications and at least 2 years of related work experience.
