Fonterra Oceania is our newly formed entity that merges the Fonterra Brands New Zealand (FBNZ) and Fonterra Australia operations, aimed at enhancing our competitive position in the trans-Tasman dairy market. The integration of Fonterra Brands New Zealand (FBNZ) and Fonterra Australia builds on similarities to outperform the competition, create scale and synergies, and will strengthen our competitive edge. About the opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi
We are looking for an Automation Technician to support our Eltham Bridge St site, where you will be responsible for supporting our automation and control systems. Reporting to the Engineering Manager at Eltham and a dotted line to the Group Automation & Control Manager at Takaanini, you will sit within an ever-changing industry where we need to ensure our systems are fresh and effectively monitored and running smoothly. This role will give you lots of variety and exposure, where you will work across BAU maintenance as well as projects and some strategic technology initiatives.
Day to day, you will be based at site where you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the hardware and software of the control systems to ensure high availability and reliability of manufacturing plant to site. You will be involved in PLC and HMI coding and programming, as well as fault finding and attending breakdowns.
Working Monday to Friday during the day, this is a fantastic opportunity to play an integral part of achieving our Oceania technology initiatives while having an excellent work life balance. About you | Ko wai koe
You will be a natural relationship builder and be able to work with the wider business to understand pain points and needs while effectively putting in place initiatives to ensure our control systems are running to optimal capacity. You will be a strong automation technician with high proficiency in process automation and machine coding, ideally with familiarity in manufacturing systems.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Proven hands-on automation experience working in PLC and HMI control systems and programming
- Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills
- An ability to remain calm under pressure and in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail
- Experience with Allen Bradley systems for PLCs as well as SQL database maintenance would be beneficial
- Ideally have a Tertiary or Trade Qualifications in engineering, electrical or similar discipline.
