Divisional Services and Administration is a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering outstanding student and staff experiences through high quality, confidential secretarial and administrative support services. We are a strong supportive whakawhanaungatanga, (community), proud of the work we do as the largest workforce in the university, spanning every corner of the motu.
The role/Te mahi
This highly specialised Administrator role, based at the Otago Medical School, supports the development, coordination and management of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programme assessments. This involves coordinating in-course, exam and summative assessments and delivering assessment results for the Boards of Censors in Years 2-6 of the programme (ELM and ALM).
In addition, you will be assisting with updating assessment policies and procedures documents and coordinating alternative arrangements for in-course and end of year assessments, Special Consideration, and other assessment related requests from staff and students.
The role also provides secretarial support to the Assessment Sub-Committee (MASC) and the Convener of the Sub-committee.

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced complex administration environment.
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to adapt and navigate new systems.

  • Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.
Experience working in a tertiary institution would be advantageous.

This is a fixed term (12 months), full time (37.5 hours per week) position located in Dunedin, while the incumbent is on secondment.
The appointments range for this role is $59,285 to $63,651. Top of range is $68,744.
