We are looking for one midwifery lecturers (0.8 FTE) to join our dynamic Kirikiriroa based teaching team for Te Kuratini o Waikato Bachelor of Midwifery programme. We have a commitment to excellence in our teaching and support of midwifery ākonga. We are interested in hearing from people with a strong desire to support work towards equitable outcomes for Māori and mana-enhancing Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships. The appointing salary for this role will be between $70,400.00 and $92,400.00 dependent on skills and experience. The Academic Staff Member (Midwifery) is based in our Wintec | Te Pūkenga reporting to Team Manager – Midwifery Centre for Health and Social Practice the and will be responsible for:
Support ākonga midwifery journey for and help to grow our future workforce
Working with ākonga to support their learning by providing teaching within the degree programme and facilitating student problem solving, reflection on practice and skills development.
Be an advocate for supporting and working towards equitable outcomes for Māori and mana-enhancing Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships
Demonstrated experience or willingness to be responsible for delivery Kaupapa Māori initiatives

To be successful in this role you will have:
Be a Registered Midwife within Aotearoa, with at least five years’ experience who is passionate about midwifery education
Have a strong understanding of Mātauranga Māori
Have knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori
Relevant teaching experience, professional development for an Adult Tertiary Teaching certificate can be provided
Hold a Masters’ degree or be currently engaged in ongoing or committed to start post graduate education
Research active, or willing to participate in research projects
