HSE Officer
The role of an HSE Officer/Specialist in the telecom sector involves ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within telecommunications projects and operations. This specialist is responsible for implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety, especially in high-risk environments like towers and field sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Pay: KD400.000 - KD450.000 per month
Key Responsibilities:
- HSE Compliance: Ensure that all telecom installations, maintenance, and operations are compliant with local and international HSE regulations.
- Risk Assessments: Perform risk assessments and site inspections, particularly in high-risk environments such as cell towers, transmission lines, and construction sites.
- Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols specific to telecom environments, such as fall protection, electrical safety, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Incident Reporting: Lead investigations and root cause analyses of accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions. Ensure that incidents are documented, reported, and corrective actions are implemented.
- Training & Awareness: Conduct regular safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors working in telecom operations, especially those involved in tower climbing, rigging, and site maintenance.
- Emergency Preparedness: Prepare and execute emergency response plans for telecom sites, ensuring that all personnel are trained in emergency procedures.
- Monitoring & Audits: Carry out regular HSE audits and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Contractor Management: Ensure that contractors adhere to the company’s HSE standards and are provided with the necessary training and resources.
- Environmental Management: Address environmental concerns specific to telecom installations, such as noise pollution, radiation, and waste management.
- Degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred Certifications such as NEBOSH, or equivalent safety management qualifications.
- Preferred experience in the telecommunications industry or related sectors where safety in high-risk environments (e.g., tower climbing, working at heights) is critical.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices for the telecom sector.
- Ability to lead safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication skills to train and educate teams on safety procedures.
- Problem-solving skills for addressing and mitigating safety issues effectively.
- Leadership and coordination skills to manage emergency responses and safety teams.
Pay: KD400.000 - KD450.000 per month
