Solicit and obtain quotes from showroom staff, suppliers, and subcontractors for materials and services.
Ensure that vendor pricing is competitive and aligns with project budget goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure reliable cost data.
4. Business & Bid Development:
Collaborate with the project management and business development teams to prepare competitive bids for new projects.
Ensure that all bid documents, including cost estimates, are accurate and submitted on time.
Assist in preparing technical proposals and presentations for potential clients.
Review bid specifications and requirements to ensure compliance with client expectations and company standards.
Participate in pre and post-bid meetings and negotiations to clarify estimates and cost proposals.
5. Project Management:
Develop project timelines and schedules, ensuring that all estimation activities align with project milestones.
Monitor and track project progress, making necessary adjustments to timelines and resources as needed.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in the preparation of project reports, detailing progress, challenges, and financial performance.
6. Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with the sales team, procurement, and project management teams to ensure accurate estimates and efficient project execution.
Maintain thorough records of all cost estimates, bid proposals, and supporting documentation.
7. Team Growth and Development:
Take ownership of personal growth and development by proactively seeking opportunities to enhance skills and expertise.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering.
8. Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned or instructed by leadership to support the overall goals and mission of the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2-5 years of field experience (or degree equivalent).
Strong willingness to learn and contribute to business development efforts, project management, client relations, and cross-functional collaboration.
Proficiency in civil engineering and project management software and tools.
