PTSB has embarked on a significant digital transformation program. This will lead to an enhanced customer experience, through re-development of the delivery channels and the ongoing evolution of the banks infrastructure and operations in order to provide cost-effective, secure and resilient services to our customers.
To support and enable this transformation a significant and exciting opportunity has become available for an Oracle Database Administrator in our Enterprise IT Services department. This role will be integral to the support of the Oracle Infrastructure we have within the bank. Oracle underpins many of our critical services and is a key technology within the bank.
Responsibilities:
Support the development of Oracle Workloads across the organisations with a focus on ensuring the resilience of stability of production IT systems and customer-facing services
Maintain the ongoing service and cyber security integrity of the in-scope technologies including patch and Vulnerability machine within the Oracle Platforms
Ensure a firm understanding of the risk landscape across the in scope processes
Lead the values of the organization acting as a role model within the team
Support development of the annual technology roadmap.
Requirements:
Extensive familiarity with Oracle with a minimum of 5 years experience as an Oracle DBA
Hands on experience with Oracle Engineered Systems; ODA servers, Exadata
Experience in Exadata Cloud @ Customer and the OCI Control pane.
Experience with the use Data Guard / RMAN / ASM / RAC
Proven experience with Oracle Upgrades and data migrations
Experience in patching, compiling, securing and resolving issues with Oracle Databases Appliances
Strong knowledge on the set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Oracle DBs
Experience of the delivery or projects that optimise the delivery of IT services.
Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
Good communication and excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work well with teams and build strong working relationships
Innovative with a strong focus on continuously improving services.
This is a Permanent role based in PTSBs Dublin or Cork locations. (Hybrid option available within the Republic of Ireland)
