Position Overview
Diligent Market Intelligence (DMI) is a global leader in the coverage of shareholder activism and corporate governance, a fast-moving and exciting area of business news. We cover issues that impact millions of people - from pensions to climate change - and boardroom battles like the ones you've seen on Succession or Billions (only real).
Our clients, which include multinational law firms, banks, and investment firms, praise us for the quality of our editorial and research always going above and beyond their rigorous expectations. We are constantly growing our business and expanding the services we offer, including our newest module offering in the area of compensation.
DMI is looking to expand its team with an enthusiastic writer who takes pride in sourcing and generating engaging news content. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, with some experience in analyzing and interpreting data. In return, we'll give you on-the-job training and an induction into financial news with a focus on shareholder activism, investor stewardship, and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and write engaging content for the DMI proprietary newswire service.
- Build and write extensive features and reports using data from DMI's product suite.
- Conduct interviews with key stakeholders such as law firms, banks, and investment firms.
- Work to promote DMI data through all aspects of editorial output.
- Pitch ideas and proactively gather content.
- Collaborate and build relationships across the DMI team as well as with sources, clients, and industry leaders.
Required Experience/Skills
- Degree qualified in journalism, communications, or related discipline
- Excellent written skills in English
- Highly motivated with good time management and the ability to adhere to reporting deadlines.
- Strong research skills
- Interest in financial markets and a willingness to learn
Preferred Experience/Skills
- 1 year experience as a reporter/news writer
