Job description We are seeking a highly skilled and responsible Civil Engineer with over 6 years experience to overlook MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) functions for our luxury residential construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the project. Responsibilities:
MEP Systems Design: Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to design MEP systems that meet project requirements and regulatory standards.
Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates for MEP systems, including materials, labour, and equipment, and monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints
Equipment Selection: Select appropriate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and materials based on project specifications, performance requirements, and budget constraints.
Coordination with MEP Contractors: Collaborate closely with MEP contractors, ensuring clear communication, coordination of activities, and resolution of any issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process.
Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and quality control checks on MEP installations to ensure workmanship and performance meet project standards.
Schedule Management: Develop and maintain schedules for MEP installation activities, coordinating with other project teams to ensure timely completion of work.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide technical support for troubleshooting MEP system issues during construction and post-construction phases, and develop maintenance plans to ensure long-term system reliability.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of MEP designs, drawings, specifications, and project records.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards governing MEP systems, and obtain necessary permits and approvals as required.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to coordinate MEP activities and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in MEP, preferably in residential construction projects.
Proficiency in MEP design software and tools.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, lighting, power distribution, and plumbing fixtures.
Familiarity with regulations and quality standards related to MEP systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively to meet project deadlines.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
