Livelihood Expert
About the Role This position is dedicated to uplifting community livelihoods by assessing challenges through baseline surveys and facilitating resource and financing strategies for cooperatives and SHGs. The candidate will foster entrepreneurial initiatives, lead knowledge-sharing workshops, and engage with local stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves documenting activities and collaborating with partners to seek funding opportunities that support sustainable development efforts. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct baseline surveys to assess the livelihood landscape and identify challenges.
Support in resource identification, including expertise and technologies, to enhance livelihoods.
Assist in financing strategies for cooperatives and SHGs, focusing on investment in sustainable technologies.
Develop and implement capacity-building training for cooperatives, SHGs, and women-led groups.
Promote entrepreneurial initiatives within the community, ensuring market linkages for cooperative products.
Organise and lead workshops for knowledge dissemination and best practices.
Engage with local stakeholders to enhance project visibility and impact.
Document activities and support in the development of training modules for branding and marketing.
Collaborate with internal teams and external resource organisations and CSR partners.
Maintain comprehensive databases of all project activities.
Identify potential funding and partnership opportunities with like-minded organisations.
Any other duties as assigned by the Reporting Manager.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Agriculture, Engineering or related fields.
Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience in livelihoods, rural development, or cooperative sector.
Strong experience in working with SHGs, cooperatives, or community-based organisations.
Proven track record in project management, training, and capacity building.
Fluency in English and local language (Hindi & Punjabi) is essential.
Desired Qualifications & Skills:
Master’s degree in relevant fields.
Prior experience with government schemes related to rural livelihoods.
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Knowledge of sustainable livelihoods and women’s empowerment initiatives.
Ability to travel to rural locations and work with diverse communities.
