Coordinator- Project NEEV (Inclusive ECCE & FLN Program)
Essential Qualification and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in inclusive education, early childhood development, or community development.
Proven experience of working with Anganwadi centers, primary schools, or similar field-level educational initiatives.
Experience in capacity building, community engagement, and stakeholder management.
Location: Goalpara Job Summary: The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the inclusive learning project across 20 communities in Goalpara. The coordinator will manage field operations, facilitate capacity-building programs for Anganwadi workers and teachers, and ensure smooth execution of activities aimed at creating an inclusive learning environment for children, including those with disabilities. The coordinator will also be responsible for liaising with key stakeholders, organizing community engagement events, and overseeing data collection for monitoring and evaluation purposes. Key Responsibilities:
Project Implementation and Coordination:
Lead the day-to-day implementation of the inclusive learning demonstration project in 20 communities.
Oversee the mapping of children with disabilities in the target communities and ensure they are linked to social protection schemes.
Coordinate the delivery of capacity-building programs for Anganwadi workers and primary school teachers on creating inclusive learning environments.
Ensure Anganwadi workers and teachers receive necessary support, including mentorship and handholding, to apply inclusive education practices in their centers and schools.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with local authorities, ICDS supervisors, school management committees, and community leaders to promote inclusive education practices.
Engage with parents and caregivers to encourage their participation in supporting children with disabilities and foster a culture of inclusion within the community.
Organize and facilitate community engagement events to raise awareness on the importance of inclusive education and disability inclusion.
Training and Capacity Building:
Coordinate the training for Anganwadi workers and primary school teachers to develop skills in screening and identifying children with disabilities.
Facilitate ongoing professional development and capacity building for ICDS supervisors, Anganwadi workers, and teachers to ensure sustainability of inclusive practices.
Support the formation of support groups for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, offering guidance on home-based learning and engagement with children.
Monitoring and Data Management:
Oversee data collection processes, including the mapping of children with disabilities in the target communities.
Monitor the progress of activities and ensure the timely achievement of project deliverables.
Document key learnings, challenges, and best practices from the implementation and share these with the project team and stakeholders.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare regular progress reports, documenting key activities, successes, and challenges.
Maintain open lines of communication with the project lead, government bodies, and community stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of awareness materials and communications for community outreach.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
Familiarity with inclusive education principles and practices, particularly in early childhood and primary education settings.
Ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, community members, parents, and educators.
Strong facilitation and training skills, with an ability to mentor and support field staff.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Fluency in the local language.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel within the district and to rural communities regularly.
Understanding of local cultural contexts and sensitivity to the needs of children with disabilities.
