Job Title: Blood Bank Supervisor Location: Margao - Goa Department: Blood Bank Job Summary: The Blood Bank Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the blood bank, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the highest quality of blood products and services. This role involves managing staff, coordinating blood collection and processing, and ensuring optimal patient care through effective transfusion practices. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Supervise blood bank staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.
Quality Control:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards.
Operational Oversight:
Oversee blood collection, processing, testing, and distribution of blood products. Manage inventory of blood products, ensuring adequate supply levels.
Patient Safety:
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure appropriate transfusion practices. Investigate and resolve any transfusion-related incidents or adverse events.
Education and Training:
Provide ongoing education to staff on blood banking procedures and regulations. Conduct training for medical and nursing staff on blood transfusion protocols.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of blood bank activities and ensure proper documentation. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as needed. Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a blood bank or transfusion services. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Skills:
