Role description
As the Head Bartender at Athenaeum Intercontinental, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing our new beverage program. You will contribute in the design and curation of unique and innovative cocktail menus, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and supervise the bartending team. Your passion for mixology, attention to detail, and leadership skills will contribute to creating a memorable and vibrant bar atmosphere for our guests.
Responsibilities
Report directly to F&B Director and work in partnership with Hotel’s outlets Managers to execute the smooth and flawless operation of the Hotel bars.
Supervise Hotel bar staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback.
Develop a complete working knowledge of the bar menu items and their ingredients and preparation.
Train bartenders and the service team to ensure beverage knowledge and service levels are up to standard.
Participate in the creation of cocktail menus, while ensuring consistency, quality and presentation.
Drive cocktail menu changes to ensure fresh, innovative, and seasonally accurate cocktails are available on the menus.
Ensure cocktails are prepared according to the standard recipes.
Contribute to shift briefings as required as well as lead staff training sessions for all beverage products.
Complete product requisitions accurately and maintain bar beverage inventory control.
Ensure all products and ingredients are received in top condition and are top of quality.
Control stock rotation.
Complete all bartender duties when necessary.
Monitor bar opening and closing duties are completed daily to standard by all bartenders.
Adhere to all regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Ensure that all details of service are performed by the bartenders to expected standards and that every guest receives the highest quality of service in line with the Hotel’s policies & procedures.
Follow all necessary policies and procedures relating to HACCP guidelines.
Must be able to follow and implement all company’s policies and procedures.
Maintain the highest standards possible.
Qualifications
Proven, continuous experience as a Bar Manager, Head Bartender or Head Mixologist in a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant / bar.
Excellent knowledge of spirits and mixed drinks.
Excellent knowledge of English.
Hospitality degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized hospitality institute.
Strong leadership & training skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of current industry trends.
Strong commitment to service.
Focus to detail.
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team and build relationships.
Ability to work independently, as well as lead, manage, and motivate a team.
Available to work nights and weekends.
