Software Engineer - Innovation
We are seeking a creative, fast-moving Software Engineer with rapid prototyping expertise to join our Innovation Team here at Sympower. This new group focuses on building quick, functional proof-of-concept solutions for testing new value propositions with our customers.
You'll need to be comfortable with rapidly experimenting, iterating, and hacking together proof-of-concepts to solve problems, collect feedback, and drive decision-making.

What you will do
-
Champion and demonstrate engineering excellence, foster innovation, and encourage risk-taking, all while supporting Sympower's future strategy
-
Quickly develop prototypes and proof-of-concept applications
-
Collaborate with different teams with the company and customers to validate ideas, concepts, and solutions
-
Solve technical challenges with innovative, efficient solutions
-
Collect customer feedback and integrate insights into proof-of-concepts iteration
- 3+ years professional Java/Kotlin engineering experience
-
Background defining pilot criteria and success metrics to validate prototypes
-
Strong coding skills across multiple programming languages
-
Experience with rapid prototyping, MVP development, and solution validation
-
Comfortable with ambiguity and iterative experimentation
-
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
-
Fluent in English required; other languages are nice to have

Nice to have: up-to-date knowledge of the latest innovations within the energy industry and interest in innovations across other industries
