Senior Software Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (C++) to join our Airport Weather Information System team at Vaisala headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. Join us and contribute to shaping market-leading software while exploring varied opportunities across a broad software landscape.

What's your role?
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong C++ background to join our Airport Weather Information System team building a market leading software for enabling runway traffic management. The role is a full stack engineer but can be tailored in case of a good match. You will report to Development Manager, Software.
Avi Met is a scalable and highly configurable weather observation, monitoring and reporting software. It is the foundation of Vaisala’s market-leading position in the global airport weather monitoring business. Some of the users are pilots, air traffic controllers, forecasters, and observers who need accurate weather information in real-time to ensure safe and efficient flight operations at airports. Avi Met obtains data from sensors and remote sensing devices and provides information to all the stakeholders at an airport to support better decision-making and improved safety and efficiency.

Your responsibilities include:
- Working on existing software built in C++
- Contributing to efforts towards building a new version of existing application using modern scaling, cloud native principles and technologies
- Work with technologies like Type Script, React, Next.js, Python, Rabbit MQ, Keycloak, Docker swarm.
What will you bring?
- Deep knowhow of development using C++.
- Very good to have some background in one/few of these techs: Type Script, React, Next.js.
- Good knowledge of building scalable fault tolerant systems using techs such as Docker, Kubernetes, VMs, Rabbit MQ.
- Experience in designing, developing, releasing, and maintaining software products.
- Pipelines (automation) experience, including testing.
- Excellent teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills and curious mindset.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
