Sales assistant in Art Gallery and design shop -...

We are looking for a sales assistant to work in our art gallery and design shop for the winter season 24-25. You would be working closely with out Art Gallery and Finnish design shop sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Cashier Duties:

Greet customers warmly and offer assistance with product selection.
Process payments using a point-of-sale (POS) system, we use Mews in our resort.
Provide accurate information on pricing, products, and current exhibitions.
Maintain an organized and visually appealing checkout area.
Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with gallery/shop policies.
Daily administrative tasks related to art Gallery / Design shop operations
Stock management, buying stock for the shop

Cleaner Duties:

Ensure the gallery/shop floor is clean and presentable at all times.
Dust and clean art displays, product shelves, and surfaces.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors as necessary.
Empty trash bins and maintain restrooms in the gallery/ design shop.
Help restock cleaning supplies and report maintenance issues with the housekeeping team.
Occasionally help housekeeping team with their duties in other parts of the resort

Requirements:

Previous experience in retail, cashiering, or customer service is a must.
Fluent English language skill is a must, other languages like Finnish or other are considered as a plus.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness in a gallery/shop environment.
Friendly, approachable, and able to communicate with customers professionally.
Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Basic knowledge or interest in art and design is preferred.
Knowledge on hospitality industry is considered as a plus
Knowledge on design/art is a plus

We hope you are enthusiastic about art and sales and you have some previous sales experience. You are easy to approach and enjoy customer service. The employment is a seasonal contract and we hope you can start as soon as possible and continue until end of March. Contract is 112,5h/3 weeks.

The workplace is located approx. 10 km from the center of Saariselkä, and a rental apartment can be arranged through us if necessary in the Resort area. Salary is according to the agreement.
