Our brand new, state-of-the-art
Material Research Center is starting its operations during first half of the year 2025 and we are now seeking a proactive and experienced
Laboratory Manager to join our team in Tampere, Finland.
As Laboratory Manager you will act as an operational head within our material research laboratory. You will oversee daily laboratory activities, manage a team of laboratory technicians, and be responsible for planning, testing, and analyzing various materials. You will also play a key role in developing and refining work practices and testing procedures, ensuring adherence to quality systems, and maintaining the performance of laboratory machinery. This role involves reporting results to both internal teams and external clients, so excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the operational head of the new material research laboratory
- Plan and manage laboratory work and testing processes
- Oversee and report results to internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and enhance work practices, testing protocols, and quality systems
- Manage and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment and procedures
- Supervise and support laboratory technicians in their daily work
- Ensure that laboratory operations are efficient, organized, and comply with safety and quality standards
Our expectations:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Material, Chemical, or related field)
- Proven experience on research and development within a laboratory environment
- Laboratory work experience, with a focus on research project management
- Strong research and analytical skills with excellent organizational abilities
- Co-operative team player with leadership abilities
- Innovative mindset
- Fluent English is a must-have, Finnish is an advantage
Experience on rubber, biomaterials, or recycled materials is a definite plus. Previous experience on working in an international environment is an advantage.
