We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior People Manager to join our dynamic team and oversee day-to-day running of the People department in Egypt. As Senior People Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of Egypt People functions including employee relations, operations, recruitment, compliance and implementation of strategies and processes to align with the company’s goals and objectives. This position reports directly to the Head of People and works collaboratively with the regional People Team (including People Operations, Recruitment, Learning & Development).
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the regional People Team to deliver on Egypt People priorities, aligned to the regional People Strategic Plan. Provide reporting as required.
Provide support and guidance to managers and employees on various People matters including employee development, performance management, performance appraisals, retention and engagement.
Recruitment of new staff where required including sourcing, shortlisting, screening, interviewing, interview scheduling for hiring managers, issuing offers and contracts.
Oversee employee onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations in Egypt, including employment contracts, working hours, and leave entitlements.
Oversee and ensure maintenance of accurate and up-to-date People records and documentation.
Develop, update, implement and communicate policies and procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of the People strategic plan.
Work with the wider regional team to develop and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
Assist in the implementation of performance management systems to drive employee productivity and engagement.
Compensation and benefits administration.
Ensure health and safety of employees.
Design and implement CSR initiatives to continuously enhance team collaboration and company culture.
Stay updated and informed of labour laws and practices within the country and regionally, and changes to these laws and practices. Keep the regional team updated with changes in laws.
Other tasks as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in Human Resources, with roles showing progressive growth. Prior experience working in Egypt is required.
Ability to understand and generate People analytics and reporting to inform decision making.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to make compelling insights and provide solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to inform, influence, support, and execute decisions.
Excellent leadership skills.
Ability to coach, train and develop others.
Thorough understanding of Egypt labour laws and practices.
Understanding of regional business culture and regulations.
The ability to understand and make use of computers and information technology (Knight Frank internal systems).
Software: Microsoft Office programs to a proficient level. Advanced proficiency in Excel is advantageous. Experience using HR information systems required.
Language skills: Fluency in Arabic and English, written and verbal.
