Strong knowledge and understanding of Import concepts rules and regulations.
Solid knowledge and understanding of vessel clearance and port procedures.
Ability to read, interpret and analyze domestic and international shipping documents, contracts and procedures.
Work closely with transportation providers ensuring efficient and effective execution of defined processes. This includes confirming shipment ETA’s, reviewing routing, confirming shipping line, government agencies and port releases, requesting/confirming wire payments, scheduling delivery appointments and dispatching orders.
As needed, assist in negotiating freight rates with transportation providers, targeting cost reduction, freight savings and service.
Perform invoicing and allocate freight costs. Liaison with Brand Managers, Accounting and transportation providers, as needed, to resolve discrepancies.
Facilitate the shipping of products from the suppliers to our warehouses.
Coordinate with freight forwarders/ shipping lines/Clearing agency to avoid any delays and reduce conflicts.
Makes sure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels
Manages activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.
Oversees inventory of goods and vehicles
Streamlines shipping and transportation processes
Job Specifications:
Bachelor degree from reputable university, Logistics or Supply Chain Major.
5+ to 7 years experience in Import Logistics.
Familiar with e-business & electronic procedures in custom clearance procedures.
English Proficiency is a must.
Very good computer skills, especially with Advanced Excel.
