Oversee and manage data storage systems, including SAN (Storage Area Network), NAS (Network Attached Storage), and other storage solutions.
Configure, provision, and optimize storage resources to ensure efficient and reliable data access and storage. Configure zoning and LUN masking
Develop and implement data backup strategies and schedules to ensure regular and consistent backups of critical data.
Test and validate backup processes and restore procedures to ensure data recoverability in case of system failures or disasters.
Implement data replication techniques to create redundancy and ensure data availability across multiple locations or systems.
Design and manage disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
Monitor storage performance metrics and conduct regular performance analysis to identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
Optimize storage systems for performance, capacity, and reliability as per business requirements.
Implement and manage access controls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms to safeguard stored data from unauthorized access or breaches.
Ensure compliance with data security regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
Forecast storage requirements based on business growth and data usage trends, and plan for future capacity needs.
Manage storage allocation and utilization to optimize resources and control costs.
Perform regular updates, patches, and maintenance activities on storage systems to ensure security, stability, and reliability.
Manage vendor SLA.
Participate in evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and solutions.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
Generate reports on storage performance, capacity utilization, and backup success rates for management review.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputable university.
Proven experience as a Storage and Data Protection Engineer or in a similar role.
Minimum 2- 3 years of relevant experience.
In-depth knowledge of technologies, storage protocols, and storage management. Familiarity with data protection strategies, backup solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
Strong understanding of storage security practices, access controls, and encryption.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for data protection-related issues.
Proficiency in monitoring and management tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Project management experience and proficiency in project management tools.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality storage and data protection services.
