As an Accounting I at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a key role in our Finance team. Your work will give to the accurate and timely processing of general accounting activities, such as month-end and quarter-end closing, intercompany processes, fixed assets, and account balance reconciliations. Your attention to detail and ability to analyze accounting information will ensure the flawless execution of these critical tasks.
A day in the Life:
Collaborate with the team to perform general ledger, intercompany, and fixed assets activities for month-end closing.
Process intercompany invoices and manual journal entries.
Conduct monthly reconciliations for mid-complex balance sheet accounts.
Analyze accounting information to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Communicate with internal and external clients regarding accounting inquiries.
Support the audit process and maintain necessary controls.
Discover possibilities for enhancing processes and promoting ongoing improvement.
Assist supervisors and management in implementing strategies and guidelines.
Respond to various requests from the company.

Education
Technical high school degree or equivalent experience related to the position.
Experience
Proven experience in similar positions.
Experience working in Shared Service Centers.
Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Power Point, Outlook, and intermediate Excel skills.
Experience with ERPs such as Oracle, SAP, JDEdwards, and Mainframe.
Knowledge of Blackline or Hyperion is a plus.
Familiarity with bank platforms is an advantage.
