The ideal candidate would be a Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician (Red Seal) with a minimum of 3 years Journeyperson experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment. Reporting to the Process Plant Electrical Supervisor, the Instrumentation Technician is responsible to test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices. In addition, the incumbent will perform general maintenance on the equipment and design new measuring and recording methods. This position is located at the Project site, working on a 14 days in/14 days out rotation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Repair and maintain mine equipment in compliance with workplace safety rules.
Monitor and analyze electrical systems.
Complete breakdown, corrective and minor reports.
Clean, maintain, calibrate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Improve equipment availability and efficiency through quality maintenance and failure analysis.
Perform preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of activities of electrical and instrumentation systems as required.
Troubleshoot, repair, and conduct periodic calibration of instruments on a wide range of equipment including analyzers, PLC and process control equipment, communication networks, environmental emission and data logging equipment, and field monitoring equipment.
Install, program, and calibrate new equipment (rebuild as needed) and evaluate latest technologies for feasibility and efficiencies.
Create drawings and documents for future reference and maintain maintenance project records.
Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures and ensure that these are consistently adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasks.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the maintenance workshops and wherever maintenance work is performed.
Complete all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties, such as requisitioning of parts and materials, processing of maintenance orders, and recording of labour time as required.
Conduct final inspections to ensure that work detailed on work order has been completed to meet safety standards.
Provide feedback improvement suggestions to the supervisor and planner and implement those that are within your ability.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician (Red Seal certification required).
A minimum of 3 years Journeyperson experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment is required.
Experience working in a remote industrial environment would be considered an asset.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ATTRIBUTES:
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements at remote sites.
Ability to mentor, coach, and train apprentices.
Strong knowledge of the OHS, mining, and construction regulations.
Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of fixed plant equipment.
Ability to read and interpret prints.
Mechanical aptitude required.
Flexibility regarding work activities and type of work requirements.
The ability to work in a multi-discipline, multi-tasking, team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong computer skills with competence using Microsoft Office products.
Ability to influence and inspire others and manage cross-functional relationships.
A valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract required.
