GOLD ROOM OPERATOR CENTRAL NL JOB DESCRIPTION: HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Gold Room Operator on behalf of our client, Calibre, Valentine Gold Mine. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years of operating experience in a processing plant, including 2 years of operating experience in the mining industry. Reporting to the Chief Metallurgist, the gold room operator is responsible for safe day-to-day Gold Room Operation while ensuring production and quality requirements are within guidelines. Tasks involve monitoring the knelson, Acacia and Electrowinning (EW) Cells, Cathode/Anode cleanup, pressure filter operation, and gold pouring. The role encompasses operating, inspecting, and monitoring the performance of gold room equipment and addressing any abnormal variations within the gold room circuit. This includes actively collaborating with all team members to achieve set budgeted targets. The Gold Room Operator will foster a health and safety culture of Zero Harm while ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations. To be successful we are looking for someone who is self-motivated with a focus on safety, can prioritize multiple tasks, and has strong analytical skills. Participate in crew safety meetings.
Complete training modules, exercises and testing as required.
Ensures quality of materials being produced meets specifications.
Ensure that the leaching and elution circuit is operating within specified limits.
Monitor the chemical solvent process to ensure required quantities.
Monitor and ensure the process of extracting one material from another by washing with a solvent.
Operate small, motorized equipment.
Communicates with supervisor regarding all aspects of grinding operations.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Identifying and reporting any potential safety hazards or risks.
Monitor the EW process in collaboration with the control room and elution operators to ensure optimal performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and productivity.
Monitor the Knelson and ILR process in collaboration with the control room and supervisors and grinding area operators to ensure optimal performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and productivity.
Operate pressure filter, table, oven, and furnace. Prepare the furnace charge by mixing the required reagents.
Work at heights and confined spaces, operate Mobile equipment and overhead crane as required.
Ensure to adhere to all pre-operational checks and procedural requirements to safely start up, operate efficiently, and shut down all process equipment.
Monitor the EW feed to ensure it meets specified standards and requirements in collaboration with the Metallurgical and Operational teams.
Perform Lock Out and Tag Out procedures on processing equipment as required.
Operate all equipment per Company policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Troubleshoot, correct, and report circuit upsets and equipment malfunctions when required.
Complete reports as required and ensure that equipment deficiencies and operational issues are communicated to the supervisor.
Ensure all sampling is conducted at designated intervals, accurately processed, and results documented as defined by the procedure.
Complete and maintain shift logs and reports to the required level of detail, ensuring data reporting accuracy.
Understand process flow sheets and equipment fundamentals to properly execute LOTO, Confine Space, and troubleshooting.
Assist with maintenance on gold room equipment and perform other miscellaneous labour activities when required.
Operate various pieces of auxiliary and mobile equipment when required.
Share best practices and experiences with other operators to promote a strong and successful teamwork environment.
Perform other duties as required.
Collaborate with team members, such as metallurgists and supervisors, to optimize the gold room process and achieve production targets.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High-school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of operating experience in a processing plant, including 2 years of operating experience in the mining industry.
Experience working in a remote industrial environment is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ATTRIBUTES:
Strong understanding of mineral processing theory and practice.
Familiar with the process flowsheet and with the equipment and its function.
Familiar with the safe work practices and standard operating procedures of a process plant.
Detailed knowledge of process plant processes and can operate the equipment autonomously at the completion of the training period.
Ability to recognize hazards in an industrial workplace and understand their role in assessing and managing risk.
Ability to apply logical thinking to solve problems and “trouble-shoot” abnormal situations to correct mechanical or process problems.
Mechanical aptitude and is able, with appropriate instruction, to perform basic equipment repairs.
Ability to communicate effectively with operations and maintenance personnel in the course of carrying out the duties.
Proficient with operating a computer and running process plant applications.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements at remote sites.
Strong knowledge of the OHS, mining, and construction regulations.
A valid driver license and a driver’s abstract.
