JOB SUMMARY


Reporting to the IDC Commercial Projects Manager, the Custodian is responsible to perform custodial duties and minor maintenance to ensure the Inuvialuit Corporate Centre is maintained in a clean and safe manner. The incumbent is primarily responsible for overall cleanliness for the Corporate Centre as per the checklists prepared by IDC.

Maintaining these responsibilities will help to ensure the health and safety of the staff and the members of the public. In addition, proper attention to detail will extend the life of the facility will assist in the maintenance of the Inuvialuit Corporate Centre.


QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be/have:

• Grade 10 or equivalent
• Previous related experience as a custodian/maintenance experience
• Knowledge obtained through relevant courses and/or experience in the position area.
• Must have good written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• First Aid/CPR, WHIMIS, etc. is an asset.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to recognize and organize priorities.
• Demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Class 5 Driver’s License is an asset.
• Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations on facility operations and maintenance.
• Provide janitorial services; maintain general cleanliness and tidiness of the Inuvialuit Corporate Centre as per the attached building cleaning schedules.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning products & equipment employed in janitorial care and maintenance of facilities.
• Provide building and ground maintenance.
• Provide light maintenance duties as required.
