Automotive Sales Manager

Sales Manager
Location: Calgary, AB, Canada

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership:
- Recruit, hire, and develop a retail sales team.
- Lead and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Conduct regular sales meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews to ensure the team's success.
- Ensure that salespeople know all new inventory and current advertising efforts, including rebates and incentives.
- Assist sales associates in closing sales as needed.
2. Sales Strategy:
- Work with the General Manager to forecast monthly sales and expenses.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue and market share.
- Create and organize all sales activities for the Sales Department.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
3. Customer Satisfaction:
- Foster a customer-centric culture among the sales team, emphasizing excellent customer service and satisfaction.
- Address customer concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Enhance customer satisfaction during the entire purchase experience.
4. Inventory Management:
- Maintain vehicle inventory and days’ supply.
- Ensure a well-maintained and appealing display of vehicles.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand.
- Buying in vehicles and trade appraisals
5. Sales Process:
- Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to deal closure.
- Train sales representatives on effective negotiation techniques and customer relationship management.
- Enthusiastically assist salespeople in customer interactions.
- Partner with the Financial Services Department to develop and coordinate best practices for the most efficient and effective sales approach.
- Determine the customer’s need for financing and explore different payment options.
6. Performance Metrics:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the sales team.
- Implement corrective actions when necessary to improve performance.
- Meet monthly forecast for sales volume and sufficient gross to meet profit objectives.
- Supervise sales associates to ensure individual and department sales quotas are met.
7. Finance:
- Deal with lenders and financial institutes
- Explain and educate financial options to customers
- Prepare the correct documentation for final delivery
- Meet and exceed target goals by selling extended products and services, such as warranties, protection packages, and much more
- Knowledge of regulations regarding finance structures and credit reports
- Building a great relationship with the financial intuitions
- Structure and prepare credit applications
- Verify the accuracy of all information on the credit application before submitting it to the bank
Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements:
1. Experience:
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager in the automotive industry. 2 years minimum.
- Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
2. Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry and market trends.
- Outstanding communication skills in both verbal and written.
- Proficient at operating a personal computer including Microsoft Office: E-mail, Excel, and Word.
- VIN Solutions or another CRM Application an asset.
- Judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to consider the correct path for the application
3. Certifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- Any relevant certifications in sales or management would be an asset.
- Be able to be licensed with the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC).
4. Other
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- A desire to work in a commission, performance-based, environment.
- Great attitude with a high-energy personality.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Professional appearance and work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a process-driven environment.

Salary: 60-200K
