We’re Hiring! Our client Clarenville Ford, is looking for an Automotive Service Dispatcher to join their growing team in Clarenville, NL.
What you will be doing:
Implement and maintain an effective dispatch system.
Schedule / coordinate shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required.
Prioritize and control all comebacks to ensure proper and prompt attention.
Ensure proper repair order documentation, i.e., complaint, cause and correction noted on every repair order with punch time for each operation.
Review job status frequently, logging status and reporting any change in time or cost estimates to the appropriate service advisor and/or customer.
Maintain timely and professional contact with service advisors / customers.
Maintain an organized and up-to-date repair log.
Prepare estimates when required.
Review hard copies of repair orders turned in by technicians to ensure that assigned work has been performed and the repair order has been completed properly.
Open and close repair orders.
Ensure that technicians follow warranty material disposition procedures.
Communicate job status with the next shift supervisor.
Schedule maintenance for service department vehicles and equipment.
Prepare a list of needed service department equipment, supplies and required repairs, and review with the service manager as needed.
Coordinate parts requirements with the Parts Department.
Advise the parts manager and service manager of repetitive shortage so that corrective action can be taken.
Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings.
Understand, keep abreast of and comply with Workplace NL legislation.
Assist with safety, housekeeping policies and procedures throughout the Service Department.
Maintain a clean work area.
Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
Other tasks as assigned
What you will bring:
Completion of high school or equivalent as recognized by the provincial department of education
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an automotive or garage environment
Strong customer service focus with accompanying skills
Ability to work as part of a team and take direction
Strong communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
High level of integrity, work ethic and a positive attitude
