Accountants Payable Specialist wanted for a well-known media company based in South Surrey!


ABOUT THE CLIENT
My client is a leading local news organization in North America, operating across British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Washington State, Alaska, and Hawaii. With over 1,500 employees, they are dedicated to delivering community news and information through both traditional and digital platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented team player to join our high-energy, fast-paced accounting office. This role is crucial in managing a high volume of tasks and meeting several key monthly deadlines, requiring strong Excel and organizational skills.

• Verify and approve invoices for payment
• Enter vendor invoices, allocating expenses to the correct GL accounts and cost centers
• Process vendor payments, including cheques, US ACH payments, and Canadian EFTs
• Verify and process employee expense reimbursements
• Reconcile vendor statements and handle inquiries
• Assist with month-end reports
• Complete vendor credit applications
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of one year of experience in Accounting, preferably in Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable
• Post-secondary education in Accounting or a Business Diploma
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
