RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep the accounting records up to date, reconcile them, and manage month-end tasks including financial reports.
Make sure all financial transactions are completed on time for the month, quarter, and year, so our statements accurately reflect each period. If any issues pop up, resolve them before the reports are finalized.
Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes to keep things running smoothly.
Ensure government reports like WCB, HST, and payroll remittances are accurate and submitted on time.
Step in as a backup for the Payroll Administrator when needed.
Lead any direct reports, making sure their work is accurate, and deadlines are met.
Stay on top of all financial reporting deadlines.
Help with the annual budget and forecasting process.
Review general ledger account variances and recommend fixes to the Director.
Train and onboard new team members when required.
Manage credit card management software.
Stay curious and keep learning about company software like Premier, Certify, ADP, and Bamboo. Become the go-to person for the tools used in your department.
About You
Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting.
5 year's proven experience in a senior accounting role.
Proficiency with various accounting software programs.
Thorough understanding and knowledge of professional accounting terminology, techniques, theories, and principles that support Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in Canada.
Superior data analysis and data management skills.
Mathematically competent and enjoy working with numbers.
Above average Excel skills that demonstrate your ability to automate repetitive tasks, create sophisticated financial models, and streamline data analysis.
