The Manufacturing Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations within the manufacturing facility to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the manufacturing process. The role involves close collaboration with production teams, senior management, and other stakeholders to optimize production costs, enhance profitability, and support strategic decision-making.
The manufacturing controller will be responsible for the (hands-on) business and financial controlling and reporting of the manufacturing site of de Ster in Hoogstraten, Belgium. The position also plays an active role in the off-site controlling for the manufacturing sites in Thailand and in the United States, including reporting, variance analysis, investment cases and others..
Main responsibilities
- Production variance analyses and reporting
- Monthly Business Review presentation to Senior Management
- Analyze global requests for investments, including business case preparation for management approval, and the follow-up and reporting of actual spend post-execution
- Quarterly / annual review and update of standard cost prices
- Actively support on various ad hoc tasks related to manufacturing (optimization cases, efficiency improvement programs, etc,)
- Help the de Ster accounting manager(s) in month-end tasks and group reporting (accounting system and HFM)
- Budget and rolling forecast preparation and reporting
- Identify potential areas of working process improvement
Requirements
- Master’s degree in finance/business economics
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant working experience (accounting/controlling/reporting in a manufacturing environment or external audit)
- Practical background in Finance environment of an international, large-size company desired
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and change champion - ability to see and break-down problems into clear causes, define proper measures and solutions and work with other functional groups to implement
- Excellent organizational skills and attention detail; ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Be able to deliver results in high pressure environment, connected with time management skills (manage local and corporate deadlines)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficient in MS Office 365 applications (Excel, Powerpoint) - knowledge of SAP and/or MS Dynamics is an asset
